About Steven
Steven Sciancalepore took a conventional path into law but has constructed a diverse practice thru public service and personal work. He studied political science at Colgate University, graduating in 2009, and earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2012. Those early years established the tutorial grounding for a tradition cut up between courtroom work and litigation preparation.
Soon after law school he began practicing beneath his personal call. In 2012 he listed himself as an attorney-at-regulation, and the next year he joined the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office as an assistant prosecutor. That duration within the prosecutor’s workplace gave him direct trial experience and exposure to case preparation under the timelines and pressures of public prosecution. He moved again into personal practice in 2015, taking a position at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP, the place he labored on legal proceedings matters for numerous years.
In 2017 Sciancalepore opened his own practice, running as Steven Sciancalepore, Lawyer at Law. He has maintained that operation since then. Running a small company requires juggling casework, client intake and courtroom appearances. He has handled things at a number of levels, from preliminary charging decisions to hearings and trials.
He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York, and he is likewise approved to seem within the District Court of New Jersey. Those admissions allow him to take instances in state and federal trial courts in the area. He keeps memberships in several expert groups that reflect his courtroom background, including the State Bar of New Jersey, the New Jersey Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
Sciancalepore also belongs to local and specialized organizations. He is a member of the Hudson County Bar Association and the North Hudson Lawyers Club. He holds membership within the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey and the American Bar Association. Those affiliations provide ordinary touch with practitioners on both the prosecution and defense sides of felony law.
Colleagues and clients who have worked with him note that his profession crosses the general public–private divide. He has experience as an assistant prosecutor and as a personal litigator. That mix informs his approach in courtroom and in advising clients about risk and process.
He continues to operate his own practice in New Jersey and New York. His current practice facilities on criminal things and trial work in state and federal courts.
