About Melisa D.

Melisa D. Ludeman completed her undergraduate studies at Truman State University, earning a B.A. in political science in 2002. She moved shortly into legal background, receiving her J.D. from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law in 2003. Those early academic years positioned her squarely within the Midwest legal network she continues to serve.

After law school she took a role at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri in 2004, working as an assistant to the pro se law clerk. She spent that time handling intake and procedural questions from litigants with out counsel, studying the practical constraints of federal judiciary practice and how courts handle pro se filings.

Ludeman then shifted into roles that emphasized document review and case preparation. In 2006 she labored as a discovery analyst at Shook, Hardy & Bacon, and in 2009 she served in a comparable ability at Rouse Hendricks German May. Those positions concerned managing giant volumes of materials, organizing history for litigation, and helping attorneys at some point of the invention phase. The work required attention to procedure and detail, and familiarity with the technical steps of contemporary evidence-gathering process practice.

In 2008 she became the managing lawyer of Ludeman Law Office, LLC. She has been a member of the Jackson County Bar Association since that year. Ludeman is certified to practice in each Missouri and Kansas, a cross-jurisdictional footing that allows her to handle things spanning state lines in the region.

Her professional background combines court process and evidence-gathering process work. The early federal court experience informs how she approaches filings and procedural deadlines. The discovery roles gave her hands-on exposure to the mechanics of records review and the coordination needed in complex instances. Together, those experiences shape how she prepares things for litigation and the way she organizes a dossier from intake thru trial preparation.

Colleagues and clients see a lawyer who prefers clean process to rhetoric and who emphasizes realistic steps over broad guarantees. She has spent so much of her career in and round Kansas City courts, moving among public court work and personal practice roles. That blend of settings has left her comfortable in each judicial and client-facing environments.

Ludeman currently practices at Ludeman Law Office, LLC, where her work concentrates on civil litigation matters, evidence-gathering process control, and procedural elements of federal and state cases in Missouri and Kansas.
