About Aaron S.
Aaron S. Coltrane moved into courtroom work soon after completing law program. He built early experience in public defense, then shifted into personal practice where trial work became the middle of his day-to-day work. Coltrane’s trajectory has stored him near contested cases and court advocacy.
He earned a B.S.B.A. in Business Administration from Waynesburg College in 2005. He then attended Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, completing his J.D. in 2014 with coursework focused in litigation. The academic trail combined business education and legal proceedings study, providing a practical base for practice in felony and civil courts.
Coltrane began his professional legal career in public service. In 2013 he labored at the Washtenaw County Public Defender’s Office, dealing with client representation on criminal matters. In 2014 he moved into personal practice as a trial lawyer with Nye & Associates, PLLC. A year later he have become a partner at Brabant & Coltrane, PLLC, where he took on expanded responsibilities at trial and in company management.
He is licensed to practice in Michigan and holds a certificate of admission to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He joined the State Bar of Michigan in 2014. He is a member of the Criminal Defense Lawyers of Michigan (since 2014), the Michigan Association of Justice (since 2014), and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (since 2016). Those affiliations reflect his ongoing engagement with professional organizations that target trial practice and criminal protection.
