About Robert

Robert Maurer constructed a career that connects accounting, enterprise control and business law. He earned a B.S. in accounting from Saint Louis University in 1983, observed by a J.D. from the same faculty in 1987. He returned to the study room later, completing a MBA in control at Washington University in St. Louis in 2003. Those degrees supply the technical backbone for the work he has done in-residence and in private practice.

He started his legal career as a legal proceedings associate at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in 1987. That early work positioned him in courtroom rooms and within the drafting room, handling disputes that gave him practical publicity to business litigation. In 1989 he moved in-house as assistant general counsel for ITT Commercial Distribution Finance Corp., the place he shifted toward client-aspect counseling and transactional matters.

The Nineteen Nineties and early 2000s were spent in a collection of in-house counsel roles at financial offerings firms. In 1995 he became affiliate chief legal officer at Deutsche Financial Services Corporation. He took an operations counsel role at GE Commercial Distribution Finance Corp. in 2002, and in 2004 he joined Textron Financial Corporation as department counsel. These positions involved agreement negotiation, regulatory problems, and matters tied to business lending and distribution finance.

In 2012 he shaped The Maurer Law Office and serves as principal. The firm handles things that mirror his career records: company transactions, lender-aspect representation and disputes related to commercial finance. He holds membership in the American Bar Association and keeps expert ties to the Missouri legal community.

Colleagues describe his work style as pragmatic. He strategies problems by breaking them into discrete problems and mapping them to business outcomes. That method displays his accounting background and his later managerial training. Day-to-day practice combines record drafting and bargaining with counseling corporate clients on compliance and risk allocation.

His office is to be had by appointment. He balances counseling and legal proceedings work, frequently advising lenders and different monetary offerings clients on contract phrases, enforcement, and contested things. He concentrates on company finance transactions, lender-aspect matters, and business litigation.
