About Maurice
Maurice Giro studied at Thomas Edison State College, earning a B.A. in 2002. He went directly to Rutgers School of Law–Camden and acquired his J.D. in 2005. Those years set the stage for a career that moves between public service and private practice.
He served in the United States Air Force in 1998. After law program he took a clerkship in 2005 with the Superior Court of New Jersey, gaining an early view of how judges evaluate proof and legal argument. That knowledge informed his next steps as he moved into courtroom and client work.
Giro joined personal practice and by 2008 used to be a companion at Christian, Giro & Tadros, L.L.P. The following year he opened Giro & Associates, LLC, taking on a broader client roster and managing day-to-day company operations. In 2010 he stepped into a public position as a public defender in West New York Municipal Court, dealing with municipal things and representing clients at the lower-courtroom degree. Each position further a layer of court and client-dealing with knowledge.
He stays active in professional organizations related to senior law and the wider bar. He has been a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association since 2007. In 2014 he joined Elder Counsel and the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys, affiliations that mirror a sustained curiosity in legal issues affecting older adults and their households. He is licensed to practice in both New Jersey and New York.
Giro’s practice during the last decade has moved toward serving older clients and their families while continuing to draw on his municipal courtroom experience and earlier clerkship work. He has run small firms and treated the administrative needs that include them. Colleagues and clients see a practitioner who combines trial experience with the procedural knowledge gained from time in a state advanced courtroom and municipal defense work.
Today he practices from Giro Lawyers at Law LLP. His work addresses the legal wants of older adults and their families and displays both his affiliation memberships and his varied career path in public and private roles. His current practice makes a speciality of elder law and associated issues affecting older clients.
