About Lorraine
Lorraine Gauli-Rufo earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1991. She moved from law program into practice in the tri-state area and built a tradition centered on felony protection. Her education at Seton Hall provided a foundation in court process and advocacy, and she has maintained a steady presence in New Jersey and New York courts since beginning her practice.
Her professional life has targeted on representing humans accused of crimes. She is admitted to practice in both New Jersey and New York. Over the years she has treated matters at various stages of the criminal process. That work has covered appearances at arraignments, pretrial proceedings and trials. She represents clients dealing with a variety of criminal accusations and works to guard their rights through each step of the procedure.
She has taken roles past individual instances. Since 2017 she has served as a trustee of the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey (ACDL-NJ). In that ability she has participated within the company’s efforts to offer education, assets and a collective voice for felony protection lawyers across the state. Her service at the board reflects long-status engagement with expert and protection-oriented legal groups.
Colleagues describe her courtroom manner as continuous and direct. She prepares for proceedings and trials with near attention to procedure and evidence. She additionally engages in the types of case assessment and bargaining that frequently determine how a criminal topic is ultimately resolved. She has been an ordinary presence in criminal courtrooms in New Jersey and appears in things in New York as necessary for clients whose cases cross state lines.
Outside litigation she remains involved in expert things to do that connect protection attorneys across the region. That involvement keeps her current on developments in criminal law and on modifications in practice that affect daily court work. Her years in practice and her role with ACDL-NJ shape how she approaches client things and expert collaboration.
She currently serves as a criminal defense lawyer and advocates for clients in criminal things in New Jersey and New York.
