About Kevin

Kevin Whiteley constructed a path into law that threads through federal law enforcement, court work and personal practice. He earned a B.A. in political science and economics from the University of Missouri–Columbia in 1987, then completed a M.A. in criminal justice and safety control at George Washington University’s Virginia campus in 1994. He returned to high school for a J.D. from Washington University School of Law, graduating in 2006.

His early expert lifestyles was in enforcement. He served as an U.S. Border Patrol agent in 1996 and joined the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives as a special agent and felony investigator in 1999. Those roles concerned field investigations and case development. After law school he gained courtroom-aspect experience as a judicial intern for the Supreme Court of Michigan in 2006 and labored as a law clerk at The Brasher Law Office in 2007. He entered public protection in 2009 as an assistant public defender with the Office of the State Public Defender.

Whiteley moved into private practice soon after. He served as managing shareholder at Labovitz & Whiteley, LLC in 2011 and based Whiteley Law Office, LLC in 2012. That same yr he's recorded as taking a partner role at Shepherd Taylor Korum LLP. Over the years he has shifted between solo and company practice, carrying experience from both public and personal roles into his legal work.

He is an active member of the legal network in St. Louis. He has been a member of the Missouri Bar since 2008 and belongs to the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. He additionally holds memberships within the St. Louis County Bar Association and the Kirkwood-Des Peres Chamber of Commerce. Since 2011 he has volunteered as an attorney for St. Louis County Older Resident Programs (CORP), offering pro bono legal assistance to older residents.
