About Joseph
Joseph Toczydlowski took a straight line thru two Pennsylvania faculties before launching a career within the courts. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Business from the University of Scranton in 1992. He then completed his J.D. at Duquesne University School of Law in 1995.
His first recorded post-bar position came in 1996 when he joined the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office as an assistant district lawyer. Those early years were spent in the prosecution side of the court. He treated filings, court appearances and case preparation for the workplace as a junior prosecutor.
By 2000 Toczydlowski had moved onto the bench as a magisterial district pass judgement on within the Pennsylvania courts. That role placed him on the the front lines of decrease-courtroom adjudication. He presided over arraignments, preliminary matters and a variety of disputes that generally arrive in magistrate judge-degree settings. The experience gave him a practical feel of court process from each sides of the bench.
Toczydlowski is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. His background combines prosecutorial work and judicial service. That blend has shaped his strategy to legal proceedings and court practice. Colleagues note an attention to procedural element and a knowing of how instances move from preliminary submitting through decision.
Over the years he has worked within the public sector of the law, first in the district attorney’s workplace and later in the magistrate judge courts. These posts demanded continuous case management and frequent interaction with litigants, defense counsel, probation officials and clerks. The work required a practical, procedural attitude instead of a theoretical one.
Today Toczydlowski maintains a legal practice in Pennsylvania. He attracts on his years as a prosecutor and magistrate when dealing with matters that require trial experience and a capacity to manage the procedural demands of legal proceedings. His recent practice concentrates on legal proceedings and court process.
