Jeffrey B — Diamond has been practicing law in Carlsbad, New Mexico, since 1976. Born in Manhattan, New York, in 1950, he was raised in Lakewood, New Jersey, and graduated from the Hun School of Princeton in 1968. He earned his B.A. in Political Science from Dickinson College in 1972 and studied at the Dickinson Center for International Studies in Bologna, Italy, at some point of the 1970-71 educational year. Before attending law school, he interned in the U.S. Senate and served as a full-time Senate staffer from June 1972 to August 1973. He received his J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1976. Admitted to the New Mexico State Bar in 1976, Mr.
Diamond is also certified to practice within the U.S. District Courts for the District of New Mexico and the Western District of Arkansas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the tenth and seventh Circuits. The U.S. highest court. He is a member of the New Mexico State Bar, the Eddy County Bar Association, the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association, and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives. Notably, he used to be the primary lawyer in New Mexico and the 7th in the United States to become board certified in Social Security Disability law by the Board of Legal Specialty Certification. He has been recertified for 5 years as a Social Security Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Mr.
Diamond's practice makes a speciality of personal injury and Social Security Disability cases. He has experience in dealing with various private injury matters, including car accidents, structure injuries, and wrongful death cases. His Social Security Disability practice involves helping clients in acquiring benefits and navigating the appellate process. In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Diamond has been actively concerned in community service. He served as President and member of the Carlsbad Board of Education from 1989 to 1993, founded and presided over the Carlsbad Mental Health Association from 1985 to 1990, and chaired the Eddy County Democratic Party from 1982 to 1986. He has been a board member of the Anti-Defamation League of New Mexico and has held leadership roles in local Masonic organizations. He is also a life member of the NAACP and has served as President of the Carlsbad Jewish Congregation. From 2002 to 2010, he served at the Carlsbad City Council and was a founding father of the Carlsbad Community Development Corporation, which builds reasonably priced housing as part of a construction trades vocational training software.
Mr. Diamond continues to recommend for civil rights and social justice. In April 2011, he attended an Anti-Defamation League conference in Washington, D.C., specializing in topics such as bullying in schools, legal rights in the twenty first century, and Middle East affairs. He presently serves as the New Mexico State President of the Anti-Defamation League.
