About Gary K.
Gary K. Springstead built a foundation in political science before turning to regulation. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Kalamazoo College in 1991. He went on to pursue further research at the University of Michigan and later attended Wayne State University Law School, the place he finished his legal training. Those educational stops formed a practical strategy to courtroom work and client counseling.
He started his professional legal career in Michigan and through the years concentrated on felony defense and impaired riding instances. He developed trial experience in state trial courts and is licensed to practice in Michigan and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. That federal admission broadened the variety of appeals and procedural things he could handle for clients.
Springstead has been active in expert organizations that intersect with criminal defense and DUI regulation. He joined the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in 2005. In 2011 he became a member of the National College of DUI Defense and served at the Board of Directors of the Criminal Defense Lawyers of Michigan the same year. In 2014 he joined the Michigan Association of OWI Lawyers. He maintains current memberships in local and national defense groups and takes part within the continuing legal education the ones groups offer.
Colleagues describe him as a person who prepares instances methodically and who prefers direct, practical advocacy over theatrical courtroom techniques. He handles arraignments, pretrial motions, trials and post-conviction matters. He has represented clients in a range of misdemeanor and criminal matters, in addition to in OWI and DUI hearings, and he often works on problems that arise at the intersection of criminal procedure and driver's license penalties.
He practices from Springstead Bartish & Borgula Law, P.L.L.C., with workplaces in Grand Rapids and Fremont. He splits time between the 2 locations and represents clients throughout the region. He presently practices at Springstead Bartish & Borgula Law, P.L.L.C., targeting felony defense and DUI/OWI matters.
