About Eric
Eric Goldberg brings a mixed background in regulation and finance to work on legal problems that affect older adults and their families. He earned a B.S. from Cornell University in 1986 and a J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1991. He is licensed to practice in New York and New Jersey.
He started his professional legal career in the early 1990s as an affiliate dealing with property transactions and commercial litigation at Weisblum & Felice. A few years later he moved into the financial sector, serving as a proprietary danger arbitrage equities trader at ETG, LLC. That experience led to management roles in finance: in 2003 he was managing shareholder at Lynx Capital Partners, LLC, and in 2007 he became Senior Vice President and Head of East Coast Business Development at Chicago Deferred Exchange Company (CDEC). In 2009 he returned to elder law practice as counsel focused on asset preservation at Hauptman & Hauptman, P.C.
Goldberg’s professional credentials reflect his hybrid practice. He is a Certified Elder Law Lawyer thru the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and a Certified Dementia Practitioner through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. He additionally holds a Life & Health Insurance Agent license from the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance.
