About Douglas K. W.
Douglas K. W. Landau educated first as a student of the sciences after which turned to law. He earned a B.A. from Boston University in 1978 and finished extra learn about at Boston University’s Sargent College in Applied Anatomy and Physiology in 1981. He received his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 1985 and served as editor in chief of the law program newspaper while enrolled there.
Early in his legal lifestyles Landau gained broad publicity to trial and appellate practice. He served as a clerk for Judge Aaron Levine in 1981 and spent summers and internships at firms and public interest teams in Florida, London and somewhere else. Those placements covered work with Trial Lawyers for Public Justice and a stint in London at Robin Thompson & Partners. He also labored within the Florida State Lawyer’s Office, and at some point of law program he worked with Costello & Shea.
Landau moved quickly into firm practice after law school. He began as an associate in 1985 and held associate positions thru the late Nineteen Eighties and 1990, working with firms similar to Hall, Surovell, Jackson & Colten, Ashcraft & Gerel, and Connerton, Ray & Simon. In 1991 he took on a principal position at Abrams Landau, Ltd., and in 1996 he served as a partner at Allred, Bacon, Halfhill, Landau & Young. He resumed his position as principal at Abrams Landau, Ltd. in 2000.
Across those years he built a tradition that touches litigation in several jurisdictions. He is licensed to practice in Virginia, the District of Columbia, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey and before the U.S. highest court. His career indicates repeated engagement with trial work, plaintiff and protection environments, and a variety of procedural and substantive issues that arise in contested cases.
Colleagues describe Landau as an attorney who brings realistic courtroom experience to case preparation and client counseling. He has alternated periods in company leadership with hands-on trial and pretrial work. That stability has formed how he strategies complicated matters and how he prepares witnesses and proof for trial.
He continues to practice from Abrams Landau, Ltd. and stays active in litigation across the jurisdictions where he is licensed. He concentrates his practice on litigation, including defective product claims and civil trial things.
