About Clayton
Clayton Allen took an unconventional trail thru graduate school before settling into trial work. He finished his law school training on the University of Virginia School of Law, receiving a J.D. in 1983.
Early in his career he gained exposure to public service. He served as an intern within the Lawyer General’s Office of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and in 1981 he served on a task force on the Office of Management and Budget in the Executive Office of the President. Those placements put him in close touch with government operations at both the state and federal level.
After law program he moved shortly into private practice. In 1983 he joined Allen, Allen, Allen, & Allen, P.C. as a companion and litigator. That position has defined his expert life. He has labored in legal proceedings and courtroom practice for many years, representing clients throughout matters that require courtroom experience and court process.

Colleagues describe him as the type of lawyer who prefers the courthouse to the conference room. He has spent years constructing abilities in litigation preparation, witness exam and courtroom advocacy. Those are realistic, discovered skills gained from repeated work in contested things rather than from an unmarried landmark case or public office.
Outside of litigation he has drawn on his enterprise education when dealing with complicated instances that contain economic analysis or multi-celebration disputes. His MBA and earlier economics training tell the way he evaluates compensation, assesses resolution options and structures case strategy.
He stays licensed to practice in Virginia and continues to manage civil legal proceedings. As of 2026 he practices in Virginia, concentrating on trial legal proceedings and related civil matters.
