William Cruse constructed a methodical trail into regulation that started in the sciences. He studied chemistry at Pearl River Community College before earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Mississippi College in 2005. He then finished his legal education at Mississippi College School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2009.
After law school, Cruse took a conventional route through the nearby legal network. He served as a regulation clerk at Ferguson & Fike in 2007 whilst still completing his research. That early experience ended in his first role as a lawyer at The Cruse Legal Firm in 2009, where he began handling a range of things for clients within the area.
