West Cox earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Clemson University in 2008, after beginning his undergraduate research in 2005. He went on to attend the University of South Carolina School of Law from 2011 to 2014 and acquired his Juris Doctor in 2014. Those years framed his legal background and introduced him to the laws and procedures that govern practice in South Carolina.
After law school, Cox began his practice in South Carolina. He is licensed to practice in the state and carries a lively club in the South Carolina Bar. His professional life has remained tied to the state courts and regulatory framework the place he educated.
