About Travis
Travis Marker educated throughout 3 nations before settling into a career that blends courtroom work and dispute decision. He earned a Bachelor of Science in records and English from Weber State University in 1997, a Juris Doctor from Willamette University College of Law in 2003, and a Master of Laws in dispute resolution from Bond University School of Law in 2004. Those years of learn about set the stage for each trial work and mediated settlements.
His first public role in the area came as an extern for the Oregon Commission on Dispute Resolution in 2003. That placement exposed him to administrative processes and the mechanics of mediation early on. He launched Marker Law & Mediation in 2004 and started practicing as a lawyer and mediator whilst also taking roles in public protection.
From 2005 onward he served as a public defender in several Utah counties. He worked in Box Elder County beginning in 2005, moved to Weber County in 2007, and later joined the Washington County public defender's workplace in 2010. Those positions involved routine criminal protection across a broad docket. The work kept him in court, managing trials and plea bargaining sessions, and knowledgeable his later practice as a mediator.
Marker has balanced personal practice with different professional endeavors. In 2014 he have become chair and CEO of The Scrivener's Quill, an organization that has allowed him to pursue editorial and administrative pursuits alongside legal work. Throughout his profession he has persisted to take instances and facilitated negotiation things thru Marker Law & Mediation, the firm he based.
Professional associations have been a part of his expert life for two decades. He joined the J. Reuben Clark Law Society in 2002 and later took on leadership in its alternative dispute resolution section, serving as ADR area chair starting in 2005. He also holds membership in the Parental Defense Alliance since 2005. These affiliations reflect ongoing engagement with defense practice and dispute resolution networks.
Marker is licensed to practice in Utah and Georgia. He splits his time among mediation engagements and protection work, taking on cases that range from contested proceedings to negotiated settlements. He currently practices through Marker Law & Mediation, specializing in facilitated negotiation offerings and criminal defense things.
