About Thomas Whitfield Dunaway

Thomas Whitfield Dunaway IV constructed his path to law from two South Carolina lecture rooms. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and communications from Clemson University in 2005. He returned to the state for his legal training, receiving a J.D. from Charleston School of Law in 2010.

Early in his career he took a prosecutorial route. In 2013 he served as an Assistant Solicitor in the Tenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office. That role positioned him in courtroom on a regular foundation. It provided hands-on knowledge with trial process, proof and court advocacy.

After law program and his time in the solicitor’s workplace, he gained admission to practice in 2015. He is licensed in South Carolina and holds admission to the Federal Circuit. Those credentials permit him to handle things in each state trial courts and in certain federal appellate proceedings.
