About Summer

Summer Masterson-Goethals built her early academic foundation in Springfield. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Missouri State University in 2000. She later returned to high school and acquired her J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2011.

Her first legal internships put her interior federal judiciary work. In 2010 she interned at the Federal Defender's Office for the Western District of Missouri. That knowledge exposed her to felony protection practice and court process. After law program she joined Legal Aid of Southwest Missouri in 2011, handling civil things for clients who could not afford private counsel.

The pass from public service to personal practice came some years later. In 2015 she founded Masterson Law. The firm allowed her to shift into a lawyer position the place she may perhaps apply lessons from legal aid and federal defender work to a broader case mix.
