About Sherilyn
Sherilyn Bunn constructed a legal basis on the United States Military Academy, where she earned a B.S. in 1994, earlier than turning to the law. She completed her J.D. at Washburn University School of Law in 2002 and later pursued a LL.M. at The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School, awarded in 2009. Her academic trail combined military education and formal law school training, an uncommon mix that formed the trajectory of her career.
Her expert life has been intently tied to military justice. Bunn served within the U.S. Army JAG Corps in a succession of prosecutorial and leadership roles. She used to be Chief of the Claims Division in 2006, then moved into trial work as Trial Counsel in 2007 and Senior Trial Counsel in 2008. In 2010 she served as Chief, Military Justice. Those positions involved courtroom work, case control and supervision of different lawyers, and they positioned her repeatedly in adversarial settings the place military rules of proof and process govern results.
Bunn keeps admissions across civilian and army forums. She is admitted in Texas and in Kansas, though her Kansas club is indexed inactive. Since 2010 she has been admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces and the United States Supreme Court. She has been a member of the State Bar of Texas and the El Paso Bar Association since 2012. The mix of bar memberships and courtroom admissions displays a tradition that spans state civil practice and specialised federal military appellate courts.
Today she serves Of Counsel at Firth Johnston Martinez. Her background in prosecuting courts-martial and overseeing claims work informs how she handles cases now. She draws on courtroom experience and appellate exposure to advise on military justice matters, courts-martial, claims, and associated appeals. Her current practice facilities on military justice and appellate matters.
