Scott M. Reddie is a certified attorney licensed to practice regulation in the State of California. He used to be admitted to the California State Bar in 1994. His license is currently in lively standing. Mr. Reddie is a partner and chair of the Appellate Litigation Practice Group at McCormick Barstow LLP, a law firm located in Fresno, California. He has been practicing law for over 30 years, serving clients throughout the San Joaquin Valley and past.
Mr. Reddie earned his law degree diploma from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1994. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Los Angeles, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 1991. During his time at Pepperdine, he used to be actively concerned in mock trial competition competitions, honing his skills in appellate advocacy.
Mr. Reddie focuses on appellate law, specializing in dealing with appeals and writs in both state and federal courts, including bankruptcy appeals. His practice encompasses a number of fields of law, similar to real estate, title insurance, commercial disputes, employment, expert and medical negligence claims, probate, water regulation, household regulation, construction defects, and private damage. He is concerned in all stages of litigation, which includes drafting critical motions, trial briefs, motions in limine, unique charge to the jury, and special ruling types; conducting legal research during trial; consulting with trial counsel to maintain claims of error; and advising on submit-trial motions and judgments.
Throughout his career, Mr. Reddie has been lead counsel on thousands of appeals and has handled severa oral arguments, which includes the first en banc oral argument on the Ninth Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel. He is licensed to practice law earlier than the United States Supreme Court, all California courts, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Central, Northern, and Southern Districts of California. He has also appeared earlier than the California Court of Appeal on multiple events.
Mr. Reddie is an active member of the State Bar of California and the California Academy of Appellate Lawyers. He has served on the Advisory Committee on Appellate Courts for the California Lawyers Association Litigation Section from 2015 to 2019 and was a member of the Appellate Committee of the Federal Bar Association's Federal Litigation Section. He is likewise a certified Appellate Law Specialist by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. In addition to his professional things to do, Mr. Reddie volunteers as a short grader for the annual Roger J. Traynor California Moot Court Competition for California regulation faculties. He is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse groups of the San Joaquin Valley effectively.
