About Scott G.
Scott G. Richmond trained first as an accountant after which as a lawyer. He earned a B.A. in accounting from Michigan State University in 1990 and finished his J.D. at Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1995. Those two strands — numbers and regulation — recur over the course of his career.
After law program he started practicing in Illinois. Over the years he has combined legal work with roles in local authorities and nonprofit boards. He served as a trustee for the Village of South Elgin from 2005 to 2013 and returned to that office in 2014, where he continues to serve. He has also taken on responsibilities in the healthcare and banking sectors, sitting at the board of Advocate Sherman Hospital and at the board of St. Charles Bank & Trust Company, where he heads the audit committee.
Richmond’s network involvement extends past company boards. He sits on the board of Food for Greater Elgin and is listed as a past chairman. He served as Vice Chair of the Brett Armin Sarcoma Foundation from 2008 until 2016 and stays affiliated with the company. From 2010 through 2016 he served at the Board of Managers for the Kane County Bar Association, a role that positioned him alongside peers in county legal affairs.
The thread of accounting runs thru his practice. His undergraduate education in accounting offers him a practical edge when legal matters touch on monetary statements, audits, regulatory adherence, or company governance. Colleagues describe him as cautious with figures and planned in analysis. He brings that attention to detail to board work, where audit committee responsibilities often require translating complex financial information into governance decisions.
He practices in Illinois and holds memberships within the local bar and civic organizations. His career blends private practice with public service. That blend is visible within the variety of posts he has accepted: municipal trustee, medical institution board member, bank audit committee head, and nonprofit director.
Richmond practices at ARIANO HARDY RITT NYULI RICHMOND LYTLE & GOETTEL P.C., where his work concentrates on business and monetary things in Illinois.
