About Robert S.
Robert S. Duxstad graduated from Luther College in 1975 with a B.A. in accounting and politics and earned his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1978. He moved into practice in Wisconsin quickly thereafter and has combined a curiosity in legal process with lengthy involvement in nearby civic affairs.
Since 1978 he has served as managing partner of Duxstad & Bestul, S.C. The title reflects both an early start in personal practice and sustained management in the company. Over many years he has balanced casework with oversight of workplace operations and the administrative responsibilities that come with running a small company.
Duxstad’s professional affiliations run from nearby to statewide organizations. He holds membership within the State Bar of Wisconsin and participates in its Litigation and Office Management sections. He is also active within the Lafayette County Bar Association and the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. His service record includes time on the board of the Wisconsin Association for Justice from 1990 to 1997 and an in advance presidency of the Green County Bar Association in 1987.
His civic exercise is in depth. He served as president of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce in 1986 and led the Monroe Commerce and Industry Foundation in 1988. He was a board member of the Monroe Arts Center from 2006 to 2013 and has been on the Monroe Business Improvement District board since 2009. He is a former member of the Green County YMCA board of administrators and has been involved in capital campaigns for the YMCA and St. Clare Hospital. He has also been active in nearby education matters, serving as co-chair of the Monroe School District Facilities Committee and as a member of the district's extracurricular activity committee.
In addition to organizational management, Duxstad contributes to the legal network in practical methods. He serves as an arbitrator for the Wisconsin Fee Arbitration Program and volunteers as a ridicule trial judge. He additionally presents at continuing legal education packages and on the People’s Law School, bringing court and office knowledge to practicing attorneys and to members of the public.
His practice in Monroe handles legal proceedings and criminal protection matters for individuals and businesses. As managing partner he continues to manage firm affairs whilst representing clients in court, arbitration, and administrative settings. He currently practices from the Monroe office of Duxstad & Bestul, S.C., targeting legal proceedings and felony protection things.
