Robert Pfarr Gates is a licensed attorney licensed to practice regulation within the State of California. He used to be admitted to the California State Bar in 1970. His license is presently in lively status. Mr. Gates is a partner at Erskine & Tulley, a law firm located in San Francisco, California. He has been practicing law for over 5 decades, serving clients across the San Francisco Bay Area.
Mr. Gates earned his Juris Doctor diploma from the University of Michigan Law School. Prior to law school, he finished his undergraduate education at Occidental College, receiving a Bachelor of Arts diploma. He graduated from Occidental College in 1966 and from the University of Michigan Law School in 1969.
Mr. Gates concentrates his practice in the regions of real estate law and corporate law. He advocates for clients in things involving real estate transactions, agreement review, preparation and negotiation, enterprise company (which includes corporations, partnerships, and restricted legal responsibility companies), and legal proceedings in real property, contract, and business matters. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case assessment, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Gates has handled instances in the Superior Court of California for the County of San Francisco, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on more than one events. Prior to becoming a member of Erskine & Tulley, he used to be a companion at Hancock Rothert & Bunshoft, LLP.
Mr. Gates is an active member of the California State Bar Association. He holds membership within the American Bar Association Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law. He is also a certified real property broker and has taught seminars for those in the real estate business. Mr. Gates is English-speaking and Spanish, permitting him to serve the diverse communities of the San Francisco Bay Area successfully.
