About Robert J.

Robert J. Munley has constructed a profession centered on courtroom work. He earned his Juris Doctor in 1996 and started practicing that year, moving quickly into trial practice and public protection. His professional path mixes personal practice and authorities work, and it's far anchored in northeastern Pennsylvania.

Education formed his early years. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University at University Park in 1980 with a B.A. He later earned a M.A. from Marywood University in 1990. Munley finished his legal training at Widener University School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 1996.

He opened a private practice in 1996 beneath the call Robert J. Munley, P.C. Three years later he took a post with the Lackawanna County Public Defender’s Office. That position put him in court frequently. He handled arraignments, hearings and jury trials on behalf of clients who could not have the funds for private counsel.

Those years in public protection knowledgeable his strategy to criminal instances. He learned to manage the strain of trial calendars and the specific needs of serious felony legal proceedings. The work required preparation for contested proceedings and the capacity to present instances to judges and juries.

Munley holds formal certifications that reflect his trial background. He is a Certified Criminal Trial Specialist thru the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is also Death Penalty Certified by the highest court of Pennsylvania, a credential that aligns with experience in capital or prospective capital instances.

He keeps memberships in more than one professional organizations. Those include the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Lackawanna Bar Association and the Monroe County Bar Association. These affiliations maintain him connected to developments in criminal regulation and trial practice.

Today he continues to practice under the Robert J. Munley, P.C. call. His caseload remains rooted in felony protection and trial work. He represents clients at a number of stages of criminal proceedings and continues to appear in trial courts across Pennsylvania.

His current practice focuses on criminal defense and court representation in Pennsylvania.
