About Richard

Richard Hochhauser pursued legal studies after completing a bachelor’s diploma in political science at City University of New York–Queens College in 2008. He earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 2014. Those years in faculty set the stage for early courtroom exposure and municipal legal work.

His first post-law program position was as an assistant district lawyer in Nassau County in 2014. In that role he handled trial calendaring, client interviews and case preparation beneath the supervision of senior prosecutors. Before law program he hung out as a regulation clerk at Cooperman Lester Miller, the place he worked on studies and drafting that supported litigation and transactional matters. Those formative experiences gave him each prosecutorial perspective and familiarity with civil litigation practice.

In 2017 he opened his personal practice, founding the Law Office of Richard Hochhauser, PLLC. As a founding partner he has overseen a small workplace handling matters that occur in county courts and in federal forums. The company’s docket has reflected issues regular to litigators who manage both trial preparation and courtroom appearances.

Through his career he has maintained lively ties to regional legal organizations. He holds membership within the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York and the Southern District of New York. He is also a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, the Criminal Courts Bar Association and the Jewish Lawyers Association of Nassau County. Those affiliations provide regular contact with colleagues throughout prosecution and defense practice.

Colleagues describe him as an attorney who balances court readiness with attention to client interviews and file management. He has worked on things originating in nearby criminal courts and has seemed in federal court as a member of these district bars. Today he keeps his practice at the Law Office of Richard Hochhauser, PLLC, dealing with matters that occur in each state and federal courts. He presently focuses his practice on felony things in New York’s state and federal systems.
