About Paula
Paula Silverstein started her legal trail at Muhlenberg College and finished at Widener University Delaware School of Law, earning her J.D. in 1991. She moved shortly into public service after law school, taking a submit as Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Philadelphia and its running departments. The role put her at the the front lines of local government law early in her professional life and gave her knowledge in authorities practice that shaped the subsequent steps she would take.
In 1994 she joined Post & Schell in Philadelphia as an affiliate lawyer. There she labored on a variety of matters and gained the company-side experience common to young litigators. Five years later she and a colleague formed a partnership, and in 1999 she became companion at Ilkhanoff & Silverstein. That pass based her as a fixture in regional practice and ended in the company’s presence in Lancaster and Shrewsbury, the place she has maintained workplace duties.
Silverstein is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Those admissions reflect a tradition that has engaged both trial and appellate work over the years. Colleagues note that such admissions broaden the venues wherein she can take cases and seem on behalf of clients.
Her involvement in the career extends past the court. She holds membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar and the Pennsylvania Association for Justice. In York County she has taken on management roles, serving at the board of the York County Bar Association from 2008 to 2013 and chairing the Family Law Section. Her civic work includes lengthy-standing ties to the YMCA Southern York Branch, where she was on the board from 2010 to 2013, chaired the special wants committee in 2011–2012 and served as chairperson in 2012–2013. Since 2014 she has also been a member of the Rotary Club of Lancaster - Sunrise.
Within Ilkhanoff & Silverstein she has carried a partner’s duties for casework and client control whilst helping maintain the firm’s workplaces in Lancaster and Shrewsbury. Her trail—public service to company associate to companion—displays steady advancement and an interest in both nearby establishments and broader appellate practice.
She presently practices at Ilkhanoff & Silverstein, dealing with household regulation things and civil litigation.
