Nannette B. Dean has built a continuous professional legal career that moves from scholarship to court. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy with a minor in biology from Boston University in 1990, then went directly to receive her Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School in 1995. Her schooling mixed analytical training with an eye fixed for practical hassle solving.
After law school Dean entered personal practice. Her early years included a position as an affiliate at Kemp, Schaeffer, Rowe & Lardiere starting in 1996. She later joined Judith M. McInturff Co., LPA as an associate in 2003. Those roles provided repeated touch with both state and federal matters and helped form the litigation and client-service approach she uses today. In 2012 she became president of Dean Law Co., LLC, the firm that bears her call.
Dean is licensed to practice in Ohio and holds admission to the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio. That status has allowed her to appear in both state and federal boards. Over the years she has balanced court work with client counseling, handling things that require awareness to procedure as much as to substantive regulation.
Community and expert involvement were a continuous a part of Dean’s practice. She is a member of the Columbus Bar Association and the Delaware County Bar Association. Outside the bar, she has played a lively role within the Credit Education Coalition, serving as past president and now as treasurer. She has additionally chaired the coalition’s CARE Committee. Those roles contain schooling, outreach and organizational oversight instead of court advocacy on my own, and they have created possibilities to deal with consumer education and coverage issues in the network.
