About Nancy
Nancy Adkins earned her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2004 after completing undergraduate studies on the University of Miami, where she studied broadcast journalism and political science and received a B.S. in 1995. She moved from a communications background into regulation, carrying an early curiosity in public service into her legal background and early career choices.
Her first notable public-sector role came in 2008 when she served as an attorney within the Child Support Enforcement unit of the Florida Office of the Attorney General. In that submit she handled cases that required both courtroom appearances and administrative advocacy. The work exposed her to the procedural aspect of family law and to the practical challenges households face when support orders must be enforced.
In 2010 she based Nancy Adkins PA, A Family Law Office and took on the role of proprietor and president. She constructed the practice to serve clients across Broward and the surrounding counties. Over time the office has represented individuals in divorce, financial child support and custody matters, balancing negotiated resolutions with contested legal proceedings when instances required it.
Adkins has maintained an active presence in local legal organizations. She has been a member of the Florida Bar Association since 2007 and joined the Broward Bar Association in 2010. Since 2014 she has held memberships within the Broward Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the Florida Lawyers Network’s household law area. She additionally participates within the Broward County Legal Aid Veterans Pro Bono Project, signing on to offer volunteer legal offerings through that program.
