About Mysty Blalock
Mysty Blalock Blagg started an uncommon path to the regulation. She earned a B.S. in Zoology from North Carolina State University in 1992, then finished a B.S. in Dental Hygiene on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1996. After a period outdoor the legal world she returned to school and received her J.D. from Campbell Law School in 2017.
She entered the legal profession as a law clerk in 2019 at The Law Offices of John McCabe, the place she handled research and drafting duties that supported trial preparation. In 2021 she moved into associate positions, spending time at each Poyner Spruill, LLP and Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC. Those roles expanded her experience in company practice and client representation. In 2023 she joined Shipman & Wright, LLP as an affiliate, a role she holds nowadays.
Blagg is admitted to practice in each North Carolina and South Carolina. She have become a member of the North Carolina State Bar in 2021 and joined the South Carolina Bar in 2022. Those admissions allow her to appear earlier than state tribunals in both jurisdictions and to advise clients whose matters cross state lines.
Her background combines scientific and fitness-associated undergraduate training with law school training and court work. That combination informs how she approaches factual development and proof. Colleagues describe her as methodical in making ready files and attentive to detail when assembling records, deposition excerpts and shows.
Within company settings she has taken on duty for drafting court filings, conducting legal studies and supporting discovery. Her early clerkship experience gave her exposure to litigation mechanics, and next associate roles brought her to the demands of client counseling beneath tight time limits. She has worked on things that required coordination among practitioners and specialists across workplaces.
Outside of casework she keeps active standing within the state bars and participates in routine bar-related things to do. Her expert record shows continuous movement from clerkship to associate roles throughout regional companies, culminating in her current post at Shipman & Wright, LLP. She practices as an affiliate attorney in matters arising in North Carolina and South Carolina.
