About Ms. Jennifer April
Ms. Jennifer April Roark earned her law degree from the University of Idaho College of Law in 2009 after completing a B.A. in Political Science on the University of Utah in 1995. The span between degrees allowed time for varied pursuits outside formal legal training. She returned to law program as a mature scholar and finished her studies in Idaho, the place she has since pursued a professional legal career. Those educational foundations inform the measured, research-driven strategy she brings to legal work.
Early in her professional life she served as a staff lawyer and law clerk to the Hon. Thomas J. Ryan in 2011 at the Third Judicial District Court. In that position she handled legal studies, drafted memoranda and orders, and assisted with courtroom matters. The position gave her direct exposure to trial courtroom procedures and the realistic demands of case control. Working in a district court chamber also meant regular contact with judges, court body of workers and litigators, sharpening skills in written advocacy and procedural practice.
She is admitted to practice in Idaho. Since 2011 she has maintained membership within the American Bar Association. That affiliation has provided a continuous supply of continuing legal education and access to broader professional networks. Roark’s aggregate of courtroom experience and national association involvement positions her to deal with procedural challenges and to stay current on developments in state law.
Her background in political science and her regulation clerkship experience make contributions to a methodical style of legal work. She strategies problems by grounding argument in law and precedent, and by emphasizing clean, concise drafting. The realistic lessons discovered in a district courtroom chamber tell how she prepares filings and manages legal proceedings timelines. Colleagues describe her work as thorough and attentive to the mechanics of case development.
Today she practices in Idaho and remains engaged in matters that arise within the state’s courts. Her current practice makes a speciality of things in Idaho state courts.
