About Mr. Matthew

Mr. Matthew Colleran has practiced regulation for many years after earning his law degree at Suffolk University Law School in 1987. His path thru the courts has been continuous. He built a practice orientated around appellate work and federal litigation within the New England area. Colleagues describe him as methodical; his written work is where he spends the most time.

He received his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 1987. That educational credential placed him amongst a generation of lawyers who entered practice because the federal courts noticed a rise in complicated civil and regulatory appeals. He began his professional legal career soon after graduation and moved into appellate legal proceedings, where court filings and briefs play an oversized position compared with trial work.

Over the years he has handled things that superior to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. That jurisdiction appears on his roster of admitted courts. He is experienced in preparing appellate briefs and arguing earlier than appellate panels. He is also familiar with the procedural rules and requirements that shape appellate evaluate within the First Circuit.

His day-to-day work has included drafting appellate briefs, preparing history for review, and presenting oral argument. Those duties require an attention to legal detail and a measured court presence. He is realistic in approach. He emphasizes clarity in legal writing and in presenting the legal document to judges.

Mr. Colleran keeps a workplace at 21 Summer Street. From there he coordinates filings, client consultations, and appellate approach. The workplace has served as a base for legal proceedings that proceeds through district courts and, when appealed, to the First Circuit. He has labored with clients on instances that required careful legal analysis and a sustained appellate document.

In recent years his practice has remained continuous because the procedural landscape within the federal courts has evolved. He continues to simply accept matters that require appellate advocacy or federal appellate briefing. His current practice facilities on appellate advocacy in the First Circuit and associated federal things.
