About Lisa M

Lisa M Knauf studied storytelling before she studied regulation. She earned a B.A. in Journalism and Communications from Marquette University and later took up legal research at Northern Illinois University, the place she acquired her J.D. Those two tracks — journalism and law — have formed her strategy to legal work: careful truth-gathering, clear writing, and an eye fixed for detail.

After law school Knauf built a tradition in Illinois. She is licensed to practice within the state and has participated in local and countrywide bar organizations since 2010. Her expert memberships include the DuPage County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers, and the American Bar Association. Those affiliations have kept her connected to developments in state regulation and to colleagues across areas of practice.

Colleagues describe her work style as methodical. Her journalism background informs how she prepares a case. She locations emphasis on thorough studies and written advocacy. That foundation supports duties that variety from drafting court filings to preparing factual narratives for settlement discussions or court filings.

Knauf has spent much of her time practicing at a company that bears her call, Knauf Law. There she manages client matters, oversees case strategy, and coordinates with other lawyers and help staff. Clients come upon a lawyer who prefers clarity over flourish and precision over excess. She tends to break complicated problems into plain phrases so clients understand their alternatives and prospective outcomes.

Her involvement in bar associations has covered attending continuing legal education programs and participating in local networking and professional development efforts. Those activities mirror a curiosity in staying current on changes in Illinois law and in contributing to the local legal community. She has remained lively in DuPage-region legal circles whilst maintaining a tradition that serves clients across the state.

Outside the workplace Knauf’s early education in journalism still shows in how she communicates. She writes plainly and listens closely. That aggregate informs how she prepares a case and how she explains it to clients. She currently practices at Knauf Law, representing clients in things before Illinois courts and tribunals.
