About Leslie Scott
Leslie Scott Jean-Bart is a fifth-generation Jacksonville local who has dedicated her legal career to advocating for people in private damage, education law, and SSDI claims instances. She earned her law degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 1997 and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Miami in 1994. Admitted to the Florida Bar in 1997 and the State Bar of Georgia in 2008, she has been practicing law for over two decades. After law school, Leslie began her profession at Legal Services of Greater Miami, focusing on preserving affordable housing for the working poor. She then joined Sheppard, White & Thomas, P.A., dealing with employment discrimination, legal rights, and education cases. In 2000, she transitioned to Farah & Farah, P.A., the place she targeting private damage law. In 2014, she joined Terrell Hogan Yegelwel, P.A., where she continues to function a partner, that specialize in injury claims. Leslie's commitment to public service is clear through her involvement in various community organizations.
She has served on the boards of Three Rivers Legal Services, LSF Health Systems, and Operation New Hope, amongst others. She has also volunteered as an Attorney Ad Litem and Educational Surrogate for foster children. Her leadership roles include chairing the Jacksonville Black Chamber of Commerce and serving on The Florida Bar’s Judicial Nominating Procedures Committee. In addition to her community service, Leslie has been acknowledged for her contributions to the legal career. She served two phrases as president of the D.W — Perkins Bar Association and co-chaired its Judicial Diversity Committee. She has been a member of the Florida Justice Association's board and has acquired awards such because the Silver Eagle and Shoe Leather awards. Leslie is married and has a daughter. She enjoys spending time together with her family and is an avid reader and cook, known for her specialties like Christmas Gumbo and red velvet cake.
