About Laura Lynn
Laura Lynn Horton is a certified attorney licensed to practice regulation in the State of California. She was licensed to the California State Bar in 1992. Her license is presently in lively standing. Ms. Horton is the founder and managing partner of Horton Law Firm, APC, a regulation firm located in Northridge, California. She has been working as an attorney for over 33 years, serving clients throughout the greater Los Angeles region and surrounding regions.
Ms. Horton earned her Juris Doctor diploma from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1991. Prior to law school, she finished her undergraduate schooling at Arizona State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance in 1987. During her time at Pepperdine, she developed a robust basis in legal principles, which has been instrumental in her successful legal career.
Ms. Horton concentrates her practice in the regions of labor law and private injury. She represents people in matters involving unlawful termination, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, salary and hour violations, and other employment-related disputes. Her practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in each state and federal courts.
Throughout her profession, Ms. Horton has handled instances within the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She has also seemed before the United States highest court. Prior to founding her personal firm, she worked as a defense attorney, obtaining a reputation nationwide for litigating sports and leisure liability instances throughout the United States and internationally.
Ms. Horton is a member in good standing of numerous professional organizations, including the California Employment Lawyers Association (CELA), the place she serves as Chair of the Executive Board. She is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the National Employment Lawyers Association, and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles. Ms. Horton has been recognized as a "Super Lawyer" by Southern California top-rated attorneys list Magazine since 2010 and holds an AV® Preeminent Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell. She is fluent in English and Spanish, permitting her to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
