About Kurt

Kurt Helgesen is a lawyer who practices in Utah and maintains a presence in the Layton workplace. He earned his law degree from Washburn University in 2007 after finishing an undergraduate degree in English on the University of Utah in 2001. Those years of study formed his approach to legal analysis and written advocacy.

Helgesen's trail into regulation used to be gradual and hands-on. He worked as a paralegal at Helgesen, Houtz & Jones in 2005, a role that gave him early publicity to case preparation and client work. That knowledge preceded a judicial internship in 2010 on the Second Judicial District Court of Utah, where he noticed court procedures and judicial choice-making firsthand. He transitioned to complete-time practice as an attorney at Helgesen, Houtz & Jones in 2011.

He has been a member of the Utah State Bar since 2011 and joined the Utah Association for Justice the following year. Those memberships have stored him related to the professional community in Utah. They have also supplied a steady stream of continuing legal education and networking possibilities, which he has used to stay recent on advancements in state law.

Colleagues describe Helgesen as realistic in approach and attentive to the mechanics of litigation. His early years as a paralegal inform how he organizes a dossier. The internship on the district court formed his court demeanor. Over time he has treated the procedural and factual complexities that often occur in state-court things.

Helgesen's practice is rooted within the state of Utah. He litigates in local courts and counsels clients on things that require a knowing of Utah procedures and statutes. He keeps ties to the Layton legal community and is available from the Layton workplace for client conferences and courtroom appearances.

He continues to symbolize clients in Utah and draws on more than a decade of experience in nearby practice. He currently practices from the Layton workplace and focuses on serving clients in Utah state courts.
