About Kimberly
Kimberly Erwin constructed a trail to regulation that started in the classroom and moved steadily into courtrooms and network packages. She earned a J.D. from Nova Southeastern University after completing a B.S. in forensic psychology at Florida Gulf Coast University and an A.A. in English literature at Florida State University College of Law. Her earliest formal degree is from Bishop Verot High School, category of 1995.
Her professional legal career includes a collection of public service and courtroom roles. As an intern on the U.S. Attorney’s Office in 1999 and later on the 17th Judicial Circuit Staff Attorney’s Office in 2004, she gained early publicity to prosecution and court procedures. She served as an assistant public defender within the 20th Judicial Circuit starting in 2006, then moved into roles within the state attorney’s office and local district attorney’s office, including work as an assistant state attorney in 2011 and as an assistant district attorney and court leader in Colorado County in 2012.
By 2014 she joined Thompson Family Law, P.A. as an associate, where she worked on household law things and courtroom practice. In 2019 she took a submit as a software attorney with the 20th Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program, handling legal issues affecting children in dependency cases. That experience preceded the release of her personal practice. In 2020 she opened the Law Offices of Kimberly L. Erwin and started serving as an attorney, licensed household courtroom mediator, and guardian advert litem.
Erwin is licensed to practice in Florida and Texas and holds certification from the highest court of Florida as a household law mediator. Her work has spanned felony protection, prosecution, family law, and child welfare. She has treated things from preliminary intake and research to courtroom proceedings, and she or he has served in roles that require both advocacy and impartial decision-making in sensitive household court settings.
Outside regular case work she participates in local and expert groups. She is active in the Hendry Glades Bar Association and the Verot Legal Society, and she or he is a member of the Association of Family Law Professionals and the Calusa Inns of Court. She is also listed with the Order of the Barristers. Those memberships reflect involvement in ongoing legal training and network legal networks instead of ceremonial honors.
