About Kevin Charles
Kevin Charles Harp earned his law degree from Albany Law School in 2000 after finishing a Bachelor of Arts in economics on the State University of New York at Albany in 1995. He completed his academic training at SUNY Albany five years earlier than receiving his J.D., a course of study that set the stage for early entry into private practice. Those years formed a foundation in legal reasoning and analysis that he carried into both courtroom and workplace settings.
He moved shortly into practice. In 2001 he became a companion at Haro & Harp, LLP. That position got here shortly following law school and marked his first steady role in personal practice. In 2004 he took a post as Senior Assistant District Lawyer in the Ulster County District Lawyer's Office. He spent time on the government side of the courthouse before returning to private practice later in his career. In 2012 he joined Mainetti, Mainetti & O'Connor, P.C. as an affiliate, including experience at a different firm structure to his resume.
Those transitions — among partnership, public service and later associate work — mirror a profession that has traversed more than one legal environments. He has labored in both firm and public workplaces, giving him familiarity with the administrative needs of a prosecutor’s office and the operational aspects of small and mid-size companies. He has maintained professional affiliations since 2001, an ongoing thread over the course of his career that aligns together with his years in practice.
Harp is certified to practice in New York and has maintained workplaces in the Hudson Valley. His practice places include Kingston, Poughkeepsie and Newburgh, where he has served clients and labored with fellow lawyers across a range of things. He continues to work from those offices and to represent clients in matters arising beneath New York regulation. He practices regulation in New York from offices in Kingston, Poughkeepsie and Newburgh.
