About Kenneth S.

Kenneth S. Kamlet spent the 1960s and early 1970s in lecture rooms that set a systematic and legal basis for his profession. He earned a B.S. in Biology from City College of New York in 1966, finished a M.Phil. in Biochemical Sciences at Yale in 1970, and took his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1973. Those credentials helped him pass fluidly between environmental science and the law.

His first legal position got here right now after law school. In 1973 he joined the National Wildlife Federation in Washington, D.C., serving as counsel and director of legal affairs. He treated legal work at a time when federal environmental statutes and regulations were turning into extra central to public policy. The position placed him at the intersection of advocacy, regulatory interpretation and litigation.

Kamlet later moved into the private sector the place his career cut up among consulting and law practice. In 1987 he have become a manager and principal in the Environment, Health & Safety practice of A.T. Kearney in Alexandria, Virginia. That role married technical environmental issues to company adherence and project evaluation. By 1994 he used to be practicing environmental law as a companion throughout several personal firms, handling matters conventional of the field: regulatory counsel, allowing, and administrative proceedings.

In 1997 he returned to an in-residence legal position as director of legal affairs for Newman Development Group, LLC. In 2010 he took on the title of special counsel at Hinman, Howard & Kattell, LLP, a role he has held while keeping a home office. His portfolio over the decades indicates movement among advocacy organizations, consulting practices and private law firms.

Kamlet is licensed in more than one boards: New York, the District of Columbia and Maryland, and he's admitted to practice before the D.C. Circuit, the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. His expert recognitions include listings by leading attorneys list for Land Use and Zoning since 2018 and an AV score from Martindale-Hubbell since as a minimum 2010. He has held a 10/10 score on AVVO since about 2014, and he used to be named to the Super Lawyers list for Upstate New York in Environmental Law from 2014 thru 2019.

He handles things that draw on both scientific background and legal background. His work ties regulatory approach to legal proceedings and transactional wants. He advocates for clients on land use, environmental and administrative matters.
