About Juan Rafael
Juan Rafael González-Muñoz built his legal foundation in Washington and New York suburbs. He earned a B.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University in 1981 and completed his law degree at Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 1985. Those years shaped an early interest in federal and intergovernmental disputes.
He entered public service soon after law school. In 1986 he served as an attorney in the Federal Litigation Division of the Puerto Rico Department of Justice. There he labored on things that required litigation in federal courts on behalf of the commonwealth. The post gave him direct courtroom experience and publicity to federal civil procedure and appellate practice.
After his time on the Department of Justice he moved into private practice. He has practiced beneath the call Gonzalez Munoz Law Offices, P.S.C., and later joined the ranks at Castaner & Cia P.S.C. Across those roles he treated civil litigation matters and represented clients in proceedings that ranged from district courtroom trials to appellate arguments. His personal practice years expanded the kinds of disputes he saw and sharpened his courtroom work.
González-Muñoz is licensed to courts at more than one ranges. He holds admission in Puerto Rico and is authorized to seem earlier than the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. That variety reflects experience in each trial and appellate settings and the procedural needs every requires.
Outside the courtroom he participates in expert organizations that shape the bar in Puerto Rico and past. He is a member of the Puerto Rico Bar Association.
