Joseph A. Gangi earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School, receiving his J.D. in 2009. He completed his legal research after a nontraditional trail that covered prior service within the U.S. Army. The University of Wisconsin Law School formed his approach to legal problems and organized him for work in appellate and trial settings.
His early post-law school work introduced him right away into the federal judiciary. In 2009 he served as a body of workers lawyer for the eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. That position exposed him to complex appellate briefing and inner courtroom processes. Two years later he accepted a judicial regulation clerkship at the Minnesota Court of Appeals, where he worked on opinions and legal research for appellate judges.
Before law school, Gangi spent time within the army. In 2001 he served as a signals intelligence analyst in the United States Army. That experience taught him to control detailed data and to function beneath strain. It also informed his later legal work, especially things that require cautious analysis of history and technical material.
By 2013 he had moved into personal practice as a lawyer at Farrish Johnson Law Office. In that capacity he handled client matters that ranged from motion practice to courtroom appearances. His background in appellate procedure and court operations proved beneficial when making ready briefs and crafting case strategies. Colleagues describe him as methodical and actual in written work.
