About Jonathan R
Jonathan R Miller built an uncommon educational foundation before entering the regulation. He earned a B.A. in mathematics from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1981. He later finished a M.S. in social work at Columbia University in 1988. He returned to high school again and acquired a J.D. from Cornell University in 2005.
Those degrees mark a course that crosses disciplines. The arithmetic training informs his strategy to complex issues and quantitative evaluation. The social work diploma shaped his knowing of systems and the human side of legal disputes. The law degree further courtroom process and statutory evaluation to that mix.
After law school he began practicing in the tri-state area and expanded into federal court. He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and he maintains admission to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He is a current member of the New York State Bar. His practice has covered matters filed in state courts and in federal boards throughout the region.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing filings and continuous under pressure. He prefers to construct instances by breaking issues into smaller components and checking out each piece towards the document. That approach reflects each his analytical education and his earlier work in social offerings. It additionally helps when cases require translating technical or numerical cloth into simple language for judges and juries.
He splits time between a main office and an appointment-solely workplace in New York. He handles client consultations in individual and by different means when matters require. Over the years he has treated a variety of disputes in local and federal courts, often operating on things that cross jurisdictional lines.
Outside the court he stays engaged with expert matters in New York’s legal community. He maintains ongoing legal training in regions tied to his work and maintains an active presence in bar association activities. He continues to take on cases that draw on his background in arithmetic and social work, and he maintains offices within the area while seeing New York clients by appointment.
