John Tolley grew up studying the regulation in classrooms and courtrooms. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies and Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida in 2011, then completed his law degree at Shepard Broad Law Center, Nova Southeastern University in 2014. The sequence sent him quickly into public service.
He started his profession in 2014 as an assistant state lawyer in the Office of the State Lawyer for the seventeenth Judicial Circuit. That role put him in front of judges and juries early on. He treated matters the workplace assigned and learned court procedure from the within out. In 2017 he moved into personal practice as an associate at a firm that treated insurance defense work. That stint exposed him to the contours of civil litigation and the business side of regulation practice.
In 2020 Tolley released JT Law Office PA. He opened workplaces in New York City and Central Florida. As proprietor he shifted roles once more, balancing casework with the responsibilities of running a small company. The practice manages filings in more than one jurisdictions and maintains ties to both state and metropolitan bar organizations.
Tolley is certified to practice in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and Florida. His professional memberships include the State Bar of New York, the New York State Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association, all recent as of 2020. He has additionally been active in local bar teams in Florida. From 2014 to 2020 he held general club in the Broward County Bar Association and in 2017 he served on the government board of its Criminal Law Section. Beginning in 2020 he joined the Jewish National Fund’s Brooklyn Cabinet Board.
Those experiences give him a blend of public- and personal-sector views. He has navigated prosecutorial procedures, defended claims in insurance-associated matters and overseen a small firm’s caseload and management. Colleagues notice his comfort in each court settings and agency or administrative environments.
Tolley’s practice is based thru JT Law Office PA, where he manages files from offices in New York City and Central Florida. He handles matters springing up within the four states the place he's licensed and continues to keep an active position in bar and network organizations as he runs his firm.
