John R. Salvatore earned his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1972. He is certified to practice in Maryland and started constructing a career that could span public service, nearby government and private practice. His legal education set the stage for an extended presence in the region’s courtroom and civic life.
Early in his profession he served in a public prosecutor role for Washington County in 1979, operating out of the county’s State’s Lawyer’s Office. He later became to local authorities and was a member of the Board of County Commissioners in 1982. Those years gave him experience on each facets of the bench and exposure to the county’s legal and political landscape.
Salvatore additionally pursued roles in nearby politics. He used to be elected to the Washington County Democratic Central Committee in 1990 and again in 1994. In 1994 he accepted membership on the Trial Courts Judicial Nominating Commission, a role that placed him in the circle of practitioners and officials involved in nearby judicial appointments.
