About John C.

John C. Barrera constructed his legal footing in New York before increasing his practice throughout state lines. He earned a B.S. from the City University of New York’s John Jay College of Criminal Justice (B.S. (1999)). He then took his legal background to Brooklyn Law School, earning a J.D. (2003). Those credentials set the stage for a career that has moved among public protection and private practice.

Early in his career Barrera worked in public protection. In 2005 he served as a lawyer with Wiebe and Fouser and the Canyon County Public Defenders Office. That period put him in courtrooms and client interview rooms. He treated day-to-day protection work and developed practical courtroom experience.

By 2007 he had launched his personal practice as managing lawyer at Barrera Law Office. Two years later he joined Labrador Law Office as an attorney, after which returned to steer his personal firm once more. In 2012 he have become managing lawyer of Barrera Legal Group. The company supplied a base for him to tackle a broader slate of matters and manage a small group.

In 2020 Barrera added an of-counsel position with Scott Legal P.C. That position expanded his expert network and exposed him to different case kinds and office systems. Along the manner he maintained ties to New York and gained licensure that covers each New York and Idaho. He is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, which signals involvement in immigration matters along his different work.

Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in court and direct with clients. He has treated matters that range from public protection inquiries to immigration-associated filings, and he has knowledge running a regulation office. His career shows frequent shifts among solo or small-company leadership and collaborative roles in larger practices. Those moves mirror a practitioner relaxed both managing a tradition and getting into staff attorney positions.

Barrera divides his time among the Barrera Legal Group workplace in New York and work with outside general counsel and colleagues in different jurisdictions. He continues to take cases that come thru his company and to consult on matters introduced to him by different attorneys. He presently practices at Barrera Legal Group in New York, concentrating on immigration law and related problems.
