About Jody A.
Jody A. Long earned her undergraduate diploma from the University of Puget Sound in 1993, the place she studied verbal exchange and positioned an emphasis on enterprise verbal exchange. She went on to obtain her law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1996. The combination of a verbal exchange background and formal legal training shaped how she approaches issues from the begin.
After law program, Long moved into practice at a time when legal work was shifting quickly towards electronic research and early on-line filing systems. The transition demanded clear written advocacy and cautious client counseling. Those abilities have become central to her day-to-day work. She applied lessons from law program and from her undergraduate research to actual client matters, learning to translate complicated legal principles into simple language.
Her undergraduate focus on business verbal exchange influenced her early caseload and the manner she interacts with clients. Long developed a methodical strategy to client interviews and document drafting. She objectives for readability in both oral explanations and written correspondence. That orientation toward communication carries through trial preparation, settlement discussions, and transactional work.
Over the years Long has stored current through continuing legal education and by following developments in case regulation and statute. She has worked on things requiring cautious analysis of facts and regulation, and on negotiations that rely upon actual drafting. Colleagues describe her as methodical and steady in dealing with deadlines and procedural necessities. She favors realistic answers that get to the bottom of disputes efficiently, whilst preserving clients’ alternatives when longer-term strategies are wanted.
Outside the office Long has remained engaged with law school training opportunities and expert forums where attorneys talk about practice upgrades and ethics. She has also mentored newer attorneys on realistic abilities such as client interviewing and persuasive writing. Those mentoring efforts reflect an emphasis on passing along realistic knowledge instead of concept on my own.
As of 2026 Long keeps a legal practice that attracts on each her Juris Doctor and her background in enterprise verbal exchange; her current practice facilities on advising individuals and businesses on legal issues that advantage from clean legal analysis and careful attorney-client communication.
