About Joanna D.
Joanna D. Brick earned a B.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont, finishing her degree in 1994. She went on to New York Law School and acquired her J.D. in 2000. Those educational credentials lay a practical foundation for a career that moved quickly from help roles into court and office duties.
Early in her career she worked as a legal assistant and paralegal, which includes positions at Day Pitney and Clifford Chance Rogers and Wells. She took on internships and clerkships while in law program, serving as a legal intern for the Administration for Children’s Services in 1998 and clerking for Skoloff & Wolfe in 1999. After graduating, she clerked for Judge David J. Issenman within the Family Part of the Superior Court of New Jersey in 2000. She joined Grayson and Associates as an affiliate in 2001 and started constructing knowledge in family and civil things.
Throughout the mid-2000s Brick held numerous associate and senior affiliate roles that expanded her court and case-control work. She used to be an affiliate at Budd Larner, P.C. in 2006 and a senior affiliate at Simon, O’Brien & Knapp the identical yr. She moved to Garrity Graham Murphy Garofalo and Flinn, P.C. as a senior associate in 2008. In 2010 she opened her personal practice, submitting as owner and supervisor of Brick Law, LLC. Those years mirror a continuous shift from operating within larger companies to managing an impartial practice.
Her credentials include certification as a family regulation mediator beneath N.J.R. 1:forty-12 and completion of the NJICLE family regulation facilitated negotiation software. She has maintained membership in the New Jersey State Bar since 2001 and joined the Bergen County Bar Association in 2010. She also serves as a volunteer at the Morris and Essex County Early Settlement Panel, and volunteers for the Battered Women’s Legal Advocacy Project and Partners for Women and Justice. These roles align with the types of matters she handles and the dispute-resolution offerings she offers.
Brick is admitted to practice in both New Jersey and New York. She runs Brick Law, LLC from her workplace and handles cases that involve family law problems, facilitated negotiation and associated home matters. She presently practices family regulation and mediation through Brick Law, LLC.
