About Jennifer A
Jennifer A Mazzei earned her law degree from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 2006. She completed law program after an intensive 3-year software and entered public service quickly thereafter. Her early legal education set the stage for court work and case handling that could mark her first years as an attorney.
She began her legal career within the Nassau County District Attorney's Office in 2006, serving as an Assistant District Lawyer. There she handled prosecutions, discovered trial routines, and managed the every day needs of courtroom practice. The office provided ordinary publicity to arraignments, motion practice and jury trials, and it offered a realistic grounding in felony process and proof.
In 2011 she moved into personal practice and joined Mazzei & Polk, LLC. Her time in personal practice has covered representing clients at a number of levels of legal proceedings and advising them on procedural and substantive problems. The transition from the general public sector to a firm environment introduced different duties, including case strategy, client counseling and bargaining.
Her background within the district attorney’s workplace informs her court strategy. Years spent on the prosecution aspect gave her direct experience with voir dire, witness preparation and the mechanics of presenting evidence. In private practice she has drawn on that knowledge to shape legal arguments and to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of cases. Her work calls for common interaction with clients, opposing counsel and court employees.
Mazzei maintains membership in professional institutions and participates in things to do that help the wider legal community. She is admitted to practice in New York and continues to manage matters that require litigation abilities received both in the public sector and in personal practice. Colleagues describe her as realistic within the courtroom and attentive to procedural detail.
She practices at Mazzei & Polk, LLC and handles cases that require courtroom experience and careful case control. Her current practice focuses on legal proceedings and trial-associated work in New York.
