About Jeffrey Francis

Jeffrey Francis LaFave is a licensed attorney licensed to practice regulation in the State of California. He used to be licensed to the California State Bar in 1991. His license is presently in active standing. Mr. LaFave is the founder and principal attorney at LaFave Law, a law firm located in San Diego, California. He has been working as an attorney for over 30 years, serving clients throughout Southern California, particularly in San Diego County.

Mr. LaFave earned his law degree diploma from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1990. Prior to law program, he completed his undergraduate schooling on the University of Redlands, graduating magna cum laude in 1987. During his time at USD, he was a member of the Appellate Moot Court Board and took part in various moot court and trial advocacy competitions.

Mr. LaFave focuses on environmental regulation law, focusing on instances involving toxic mould publicity, chemical publicity, and other environmental injuries. He advocates for people and households who have suffered health issues due to deficient indoor air quality, water harm, and exposure to hazardous materials. His practice encompasses all levels of legal proceedings, including initial case assessment, evidence-gathering process, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.

Throughout his profession, Mr. LaFave has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of San Diego, the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has also appeared earlier than California Appellate Courts and Federal Bankruptcy Court. Prior to founding his own company, he worked as an associate at the San Diego law company Thorsnes, Bartolotta, McGuire & Padilla from 1991 thru 1999.

Mr. LaFave is a member in good standing of the Consumer Attorneys of California, the San Diego County Bar Association, the California State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, American Inns of Court, and Consumer Attorneys of San Diego. He has authored numerous publications and given lectures on environmental injury and toxic mould litigation. Mr. LaFave is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the numerous communities of San Diego County effectively.
