About Jason N.

Jason N. Machnik moved from an advertising classroom into a court. He earned a B.A. in Marketing from Western Michigan University, then turned to regulation and completed his J.D. at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. Those two strands—business and law—tell how he strategies issues now.

He began working within the public sector while still early in his professional legal career. In 2012 he served as a law clerk in Cass County. The position concerned research, draft opinions and helping judges and attorneys on procedural things. That knowledge gave him a practical feel of how nearby courts operate and what judges expect from filings and advocacy.

After law program he entered private practice. In 2014 he took an attorney role at Willis Law. There he treated client things and daily workplace duties, translating legal concepts into movements that clients could recognize. Colleagues remember him for steady legal work and thoroughness in case preparation.

Machnik’s memberships mirror his status in the profession. He joined the State Bar of Michigan in 2014 and stays a member. That membership has stored him connected to ongoing legal training and to the professional requirements that manual practice in Michigan.

He blends the analytical abilities from his undergraduate enterprise training with the realistic habits learned on the courthouse ground. His profession trail—law clerk to private practitioner—gave him publicity to both institutional and client-facing facets of legal work. That background shapes how he assesses danger, prepares documents and communicates with clients.

Clients and different lawyers come upon him as a practitioner who understands the mechanics of litigation and the needs of running legal issues day to day. He draws on trial experience from his clerkship and on substantive client work from his time at Willis Law. Those experiences guide his decisions about legal strategy, pacing and when to seek negotiated outcomes.

As of 2026 he is an active member of the State Bar of Michigan and maintains a tradition in Michigan.
