About Janta

Janta Steele trained in two nations earlier than settling into a tradition split between the U.S. and Canada. She earned a B.B.A. from the University of British Columbia in 2003 and completed a LL.B. at Queen Mary University of London in 2008. Those degrees bookend an early interest in each enterprise and the law.

Steele’s career has moved among public service and private practice. She spent time in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in 2013 as a research officer and legislative assistant. A few years later she worked for provincial ministries in administrative roles, including positions on the Ministry of Jobs, Trade and Technology and the Ministry of Small Business and Tourism in 2016. Those posts exposed her to the operational aspect of government and to policy work at the back of the scenes.

Her legal training accelerated in 2018 when she joined Hamilton Duncan in Surrey as an intern after which as a lawyer. She took on a position at RDM Lawyers in Abbotsford in 2020 and then moved to Comfort Davies Smith & Crawford in 2023, the place she focused on estate administration and property regulation. In 2024 she joined Alliance Law Group P.S., where her title reflects work in estate, probate and guardianship matters.

Steele holds professional memberships that align with that practice area. Since 2024 she has been listed with the National Academy of Elder Law Lawyers. She is also a member of the Tacoma Estate Planning Council, the Tacoma Pierce County Bar Association and Washington Women Lawyers. Those affiliations connect her to regional networks on both sides of the border.
